Deposits
To schedule an installation or service we ask for a deposit, paid securely online through our payment provider, Paystack. The deposit reserves your slot and lets us begin work such as your site survey and ordering materials.
If you cancel before work begins
If you cancel before the installation or service has started, we refund your deposit less any costs we have already reasonably incurred on your behalf — for example a completed site survey, administrative charges, or materials and equipment already ordered specifically for your job. Where no such costs have been incurred, your deposit is refunded in full. This reflects your rights and our entitlement to a reasonable cancellation charge under section 17 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
If you cancel after work has begun
If work has already started when you cancel, you are charged for the labour completed and for materials used or already ordered for your job. Any remaining balance of your deposit is refunded to you.
Goods bought online (chargers, cables, spares)
For physical goods purchased and paid for online, you may cancel within 7 days of delivery under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, provided the goods are unused and in their original, unopened packaging. You arrange and pay for the return, and we refund the price of the goods once we receive them in resaleable condition.
Separately, if goods are defective, not as described, or fail within 6 months of delivery, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Protection Act. Return shipping for faulty goods is at our cost.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are made to the original card or account used for payment, through Paystack, normally within 10 business days of approval. We do not refund to a different account.
How to request a refund
Email sales@chargepointsa.co.za or call 0800-EV-HELP with your name and quote or order number. We respond to refund requests within 5 business days.
Payment disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first so we can resolve it quickly. You also retain any rights you have to dispute a card transaction with your bank or with Paystack.
