1. Who we are
These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and the services and goods we provide. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “ChargePointSA” mean ChargePointSA (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa under registration number 2026/395892/07, based in Parklands, Cape Town, Western Cape. You can reach us at sales@chargepointsa.co.za or 0800-EV-HELP.
2. What we do
We help South Africans live with electric vehicles: home and business EV charger installation, charger servicing and repair, parts and spares, and help finding and buying an EV. Some services are carried out by our own qualified electricians and some are arranged with vetted partners.
3. Quotes and deposits
We provide a written quote before any paid work. Quotes are valid for the period stated on them. To book an installation or service we ask for a deposit, paid securely online via our payment provider, Paystack. Our minimum charge for a home charger installation is R4,800, regardless of cable length, charger size, or whether you supply your own unit.
4. Payment
Card payments are processed by Paystack. We do not see or store your full card details. Prices are shown in South African Rand and the total payable is the sum of the items on your quote or order.
5. Installation and certificate of compliance
Electrical work is carried out to the standards required by South African law. Where a Certificate of Compliance is required for the work, we issue one on completion. You agree to give us safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed time.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Your rights to cancel, reschedule and obtain a refund are set out in our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy and Refund Policy, which form part of these terms.
7. Warranties and your consumer rights
Workmanship and goods are covered as described in your quote and by the protections of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, including the right to goods that are safe, of good quality and fit for purpose. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under that Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or our liability under the Consumer Protection Act.
9. Privacy
We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to that order.
